Living the Days

Lord take the wheel,
Take my hand,
I can't feel myself no more,
I'm not the man I used to be,
I'm half the man with half the heart,
With nothing left to tear apart,
The time can only numb the pain,
But it can never mend the heart,
To feel the pain is to feel alive,
As I watch beneath the stars and sky,
I know that life will always go on,
Whether the tears are on your cheek,
Whether life is fair or not,
I'm thankful for everyday I'm alive,
I'm grateful for everyone I've met,
Forgive me if I'm lost for words,
For I can never find the words,
To write the pages of my soul,
As it can never be written,
As it can never be thought up,
It can be only lived,
For that I must keep living,
To complete the story of my life,
To be author of my on book.
